86 per cent of charitable organisations are worrying about the effect of cost of living increases will have on those that depend on their service
As the cost of living crisis deepens, not only are people cutting back on donations but many charities are also experiencing an increase in demand for their services. Meanwhile, the rising costs of energy and food are causing additional pressure on the many smaller charities, struggling to maintain their services.
One Bristol business, ActionCOACH Bristol, believes that through their professional coaching, they can not only help Bristol charities to recover any income lost as a result of the pandemic but can help them to increase their income. The organisation is on the lookout for a local charity who they can support with free coaching, including lessons in financial management and marketing.
New research from Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) found that for over half of the charities surveyed, financial stability and generating an income is one of their top challenges. CAF CEO, Alison Taylor said: “After two years supporting their communities throughout the pandemic, they are also having to find the funds to pay higher costs. With tightening household budgets impacting donations, there is a perfect storm facing the sector”.
Last year ActionCOACH Bristol supported the award-winning social enterprise, Community of Purpose. They believe that through their coaching they can help charities who are struggling, get back on their feet.
Business coach Geraint Thomas said: “It has been a tough period with many charities having really struggled to survive as typical fundraising activities were impacted by the pandemic. There are 1,409 registered charities in Bristol alone, and we want to support the amazing work they do by gifting our expertise
“This is why I’m calling for local charities to get in touch. Our coaching will help you to become more effective in operating your charity as a business. From financial management, marketing, operational processes and bringing the people in your teams together, we can support you in your development,”
“We’re looking for someone who wants to take their charity to the next level. We don’t only want to support someone in making back what they have lost, we want to help them exceed their previous fundraising efforts.
